Our client, a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying into industries including Defence, is seeking a Quality Inspector to join their growing team in Worcestershire. Opportunity
This is more than a traditional inspection role. You'll be a key member of the quality team, working closely with production and management to maintain quality standards, resolve manufacturing challenges, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business. The successful candidate will enjoy a varied role that combines hands-on inspection activities with problem-solving, process improvement, and collaboration across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured components
- Use precision measuring equipment including verniers, height gauges, and multi-axis measurement arms
- Verify products against engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Support and complete First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions
- Maintain accurate inspection and calibration records
- Drive continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation
- Support production teams in maintaining throughput and meeting customer demand
- Identify and help resolve production bottlenecks
- Assist with training colleagues on quality standards and requirements
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, or similar engineering quality role
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, ISO 3834, or similar
- Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, managers, and customers
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
