Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant Location: Tarleton, PR4 6LJ Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience Job type: Permanent, Full-time. About Bryan\’s Salads: Bryans Salads Ltd is a third-generation family business based in the rural moss lands in Tarleton, Lancashire. We predominantly specialize in washed, ready to eat sliced lettuce and salad leaf, and we also produce high-quality ready to cook vegetable packs and salad bowls, with or without added protein and vegetables, for the catering and food service industry among others. About the role: Bryans Salads are recruiting for Quality Assurance Assistants in PR4 6LJ. As a Quality Assurance Assistant, you will need to have: Attention to detail. Ability to work alone or as part of a team. Previous experience of working within a factory environment. Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing. Be a team player and support and respect the rest of the team. Flexibility with regards to working hours and shift pattern. Role of a Quality Assurance Assistant: Monitor the product quality parameters on production lines within High Care. Ensure all extrinsic and intrinsic factors meet the required standard as set by the product specification, QAS and other associated reference documents. Product quality checks. Seal checks. Weight checks. Gas checks. Temperature checks. Date code and labelling checks. Line paperwork checks. Ensure all checks are conducted in a swift and timely manner in line with Bryans Salads policies, procedures and methods to prevent loss of product or financial implication. Promote and drive a culture of \”right first time!\”. Complete all relevant documentation accurately and in real time. Ensure any deviations from the required standard are raised with the relevant persons and corrective actions are implemented and recorded on the required documentation. Monitor line hygiene and changeovers to ensure Bryans Salads products meet the required hygiene standards within the High Care area. To ensure all date coding is correct and within the maximum specified P+ date, as specified on the production documentation. Ensure concessions, hold and restriction notices are completed as per the procedure and that these are communicated out clearly to the business. Lead by example and set a precedent to your colleagues. Follow all Bryans Salads policies, procedure and working methods. Promote a culture of teamwork with open and honest two-way conversations with the Production/Operations team. Be truthful at all times and report any process deviations to the area supervisor, ensure any deviations are recorded and clearly communicated out to the business. To undertake calibration of site equipment such as scales, temperature probes, gas analysers etc. To check and audit the completion of paperwork across the factory, ensure that any issues are recorded on the relevant paperwork and that repeat issues are checked and escalated where required. Work with the area cleaning team and your supervisor to ensure that your production lines are kept dry and free from contamination. Assist the QA and wider Technical team in auditing and inspections where required to cover absence. Assist in training and coaching new members of the QAA Team. Able to work independently without direct supervision. Identify unsafe work practices. Take ownership for product quality on your production line and ensure no product is packed which is not fit for purpose. Monitor traceability within the production areas and immediately rectify any issues which occur. Conduct WIP Life assessments and grant concessions where required.
