Our client, an independent and well‑established first‑opinion veterinary practice, is seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse to join their team on a maternity cover basis. The practice has recently undergone an expansion, now offering modern imaging and operating facilities, including separate theatres for surgery and dentistry. It holds RCVS GP Practice Standards certification and is an approved Veterinary Nurse training practice, currently supporting trainee nurses.

The Role

This is a varied position offering exposure to a broad range of nursing responsibilities, including:

  • Monitoring anaesthesia
  • Preparing patients for surgery
  • Post‑operative care
  • In‑patient monitoring
  • Running nurse clinics
  • Positioning patients for radiography
  • Maintaining operating theatre standards

The practice also runs nurse‑led pain management clinics and has a particular interest in acupuncture and laser therapy, providing opportunities for professional development.

Working Hours

Maximum 40 hours per week, 4 days per week (8:30am – 6:30pm), Shared Saturday rota (8:30am – 3:30pm), currently 1 in 3.
