We are recruiting a QHSE Manager to lead compliance, continuous improvement, and cultural change at a recently upgraded production facility in Sandy, Bedfordshire. This is a highly visible role offering real autonomy, where you will influence operational standards, drive improvements, and embed best practice across the business.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the full QHSE function within a manufacturing setting. You will act as the subject matter expert for quality, health and safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring systems are not only maintained but continuously improved.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Manage and enhance the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation, including risk assessments and policy development
  • Conduct root cause analysis (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys) and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Manage internal audits, non-conformance processes, and customer complaints
  • Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the site

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment (essential)
  • Background as a QHSE Manager, HSE Manager, EHS Manager, or Quality Manager
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 desirable)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
