Position Overview: Primary Phase Leader - North London. Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 + TLR per annum. Start: ASAP. Status: Permanent.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Primary Teacher ready to step into a leadership role within an alternative education setting. The successful Primary Phase Leader will lead the primary provision, overseeing the curriculum, teaching and learning, and supporting staff development across the primary phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee curriculum for the primary phase.
  • Lead teaching and learning, ensuring high standards of teaching and behaviour.
  • Teach a small class of pupils while taking on leadership responsibilities.
  • Plan, assess, and drive progress and improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to create a structured and engaging learning environment.
  • Provide strong behaviour management and support pupils with SEMH needs, autism, or those previously excluded from mainstream settings.

Qualifications:

  • QTS required.
  • Experience as a Primary Teacher.
  • Experience working with pupils with additional needs or in alternative provisions.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.

About the School: This alternative provision is located in North London and supports approximately 40 to 70 pupils aged 5 to 16, with a dedicated primary phase. Pupils often have SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or gaps in education due to previous exclusions.
