Working closely with a Partner, you will oversee a varied portfolio of clients, provide expert tax and business advice, and play a key role in developing both client relationships and the wider team. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review client files and portfolios, ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Ensure client work is prepared and ready for final Partner sign-off.
- Provide tax advice across a range of areas including income tax, corporation tax, and capital taxes.
- Attend client meetings independently or alongside a Partner.
- Prepare and review documentation for client meetings, ensuring information is accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
- Undertake specialist and ad-hoc project work as required.
- Assist with workflow management, delegation, and resource planning across the team.
- Set, monitor, and review budgets for client assignments.
- Raise and review client invoices, including additional and specialist work undertaken.
- Regularly review client fee structures and report recommendations to the Partner.
- Monitor and resolve client and employee queries efficiently and professionally.
- Support the continuous development, coaching, and training of team members.
- Conduct performance reviews in line with company policies.
- Drive process improvements and support the implementation of business changes.
- Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and documentation.
- Keep up to date with regulatory, compliance, and legislative changes affecting clients and the practice.
- Report any issues that may impact the business or clients to the Partners promptly.
- Provide cover for Partners when required.
- Participate in business development and client growth initiatives.
About You
You will be a highly motivated and technically strong accountancy professional with significant practice experience and a passion for delivering outstanding client service. You will enjoy building long-term relationships, mentoring colleagues, and working closely with clients to support their business success.
Essential Qualifications
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong background in accounts preparation, business and corporate taxation.
- Management and team leadership experience.
- Excellent client relationship management skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software including Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
- Experience using accounts production software such as CCH.
- Proficient in Microsoft.
