Learning Mentor : SEMH Support (Primary and Secondary)

Location: Plymouth, Devon

Salary: GBP92.56 : GBP95.00 per day

Working Hours: 08:30 : 15:30 (Monday to Friday)

Contract Type: Long:Term Contract

This is a full:time, long:term position designed to help students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence in core subjects like GCSE Maths and English, and succeed in a positive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:on:1 and small group intervention for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils in developing confidence and skills in GCSE Maths and English.
• Utilise de:escalation strategies to foster a safe and positive learning space.
• Travel efficiently between local sites across Plymouth as required.

Candidate Requirements

• SEMH Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
• Qualifications: Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in both Maths and English.
• Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Skills: Strong emotional resilience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
• Background Check: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness for one).
