You'll be part of a talented engineering team designing bespoke automation systems for some of the world's most innovative industries, including medical devices, aerospace, automotive and advanced manufacturing. Every project is different, every solution is bespoke, and your work will have a real impact from day one.

BASIC SALARY: up to £60,000

LOCATION: Plymouth

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Plympton, Ivybridge, Torpoint, Saltash, Liskeard, Callington, Tavistock

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • A Meeting with customers and the sales team to understand project requirements
  • A Developing electrical system architecture and control designs
  • A Specifying industrial control components including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, robots, VSDs and more
  • A Producing electrical schematics, wiring schedules and complete technical documentation
  • A Creating parts lists, safety requirement specifications, risk assessments and CE documentation
  • A Working closely with mechanical engineers, software engineers and project managers to deliver integrated solutions
  • A Supporting manufacturing during assembly and testing
  • A Attending Factory and Site Acceptance Tests with customers

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • A Experience designing industrial electrical or control systems
  • A A solid understanding of electrical and pneumatic design
  • A Knowledge of UL508A Industrial Control Panels
  • A Experience using Sistema or Pilz safety software
  • A Familiarity with EPLAN (or similar electrical design software)
  • A Knowledge of PLC and automation hardware from manufacturers such as Siemens, Rockwell, Omron, Mitsubishi or B&R
  • A An understanding of machinery safety standards including BS EN60204:1 and ISO13849
  • A A formal qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design
