Location: Birmingham. Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading planning and development consultancy in their search for a Planning Consultant to join their established team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the public and private sectors, supporting the delivery of planning applications, policy advice, and development strategy work within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents
- Provide planning advice to clients on development proposals and planning strategy
- Assist with planning appraisals, feasibility studies, and site assessments
- Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and project teams
- Contribute to planning appeals, Local Plan representations, and policy reviews
- Support senior colleagues in the delivery of complex planning projects
About You
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- RTPI membership or working towards MRTPI status
- Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach to managing workload
