This opportunity in Peterborough offers exactly that. A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join its established Water Management team.
This role combines technical leadership, project delivery and business development across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, development, energy, transportation and environmental projects.
The Opportunity
As an Associate Flood Risk Consultant, you will lead projects from inception through to delivery, managing technical teams, client relationships and commercial performance. You will play a key role in developing the Flood Risk team while contributing to major UK projects addressing climate resilience, flood management and sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead flood risk, hydraulic modelling and hydrology projects
- Manage project delivery, programmes, budgets and commercial performance
- Develop scopes of work, fee proposals and tender submissions
- Undertake and review hydraulic modelling using InfoWorks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, ESTRY or HEC-RAS
- Deliver flood risk assessments, hydrological studies and technical reports
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and consultants
- Manage stakeholder engagement and client relationships
- Support business development and work-winning activities
- Contribute to the technical development of the wider Flood Risk team
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered or Fellow status with CIWEM or ICE
- Significant experience delivering flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects
- Strong understanding of FEH hydrology and UK flood risk guidance
- Experience managing projects, budgets and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, leadership and client-facing skills
- Proven ability to mentor and develop technical teams
