Peer Support Coordinator – Integrated Substance Misuse Service at HMP The Mount. A full-time role working 35 hours per week, focused on supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol use and building peer‑led support networks for recovery and wellbeing.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Recruit, train and support Peer Supporters and Health and Wellbeing Champions
  • Coordinate and oversee peer‑led interventions across the prison
  • Build positive relationships with service users and support their recovery journey
  • Promote health, wellbeing and resilience through person‑centered approaches
  • Work closely with prison staff and healthcare colleagues to improve service delivery
  • Champion the service, increase engagement and raise awareness throughout the prison
  • Monitor outcomes, maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement

  • Will successfully complete enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting (may take up to 5 months). Overseas residency within the last 5 years may extend checks.
