Paint Technician / Sprayer required to join a prestige automotive manufacturer based in Solihull on a 3-shift rotation paying £29.22 per hour (PAYE).
A world leading automotive manufacturer of prestige and high valued motor vehicles is seeking a Paint Technician to join their team of specialists. They are currently seeking to recruit an Automotive Paint Technician / Sprayer to join their team on a contracting basis. Based in Solihull, working a 3-shift rotation pattern, the successful Paint Technician / Sprayer will benefit from an uplifted hourly rate of £35.80 per hour (Umbrella PAYE: dependant on shift).
Working on specialist individual panels and components which require paint to high specification finishes, the Paint Technician / Sprayer's day-to-day duties will focus highly on quality and precision production paint spraying to high standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PAINT TECHNICIAN / PAINT SPRAYER:
- Preparation of panels and parts for painting
- Colour matching and mixing of paints
- Spray painting using various spraying techniques
- Application of basecoats, primers, lacquers, and finishes
- Blending of paint
- Blow ins and smart repairs
- Flattening and polishing using specialist methods
Experience of working with a variety of paints including:
- Solid and two-pack paints
- Metallic paints
- Pearlescent paints
- Matte finishes
- Special paints
Experience of working with prototype and high-end cars is desirable. Working to strict health and safety standards using the required PPE and maintaining a clean and tidy work manner is essential.
The Ideal Paint Sprayer Will Have:
- A City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in an automotive discipline alongside an apprenticeship (desired)
- Experience within a Special Vehicle Operation environment
- Ability to work under pressure and to achieve tight deadlines
- Knowledge and practical understanding of H and S, C.O.S.H and environmental procedures
- Flexible attitude towards working hours as shifts and overtime will be required
- Flexible attitude towards location as travel between sites may be required
Working Hours: 36 hours per week, 3 Shift rotation: Applicants must be available to work across all 3 shift patterns.
- Earlies: 6am - 1.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 6am - 12pm (Friday)
- Lates: 1.30pm - 9pm (Monday to Thursday) and 12pm - 6pm (Friday)
- Nights: 9pm - 6am (Monday - Thursday)
Pay Rate: 3-shift rotation paying £29.22 per hour (PAYE) per hour uplifted to £35.80 per hour to be paid via Umbrella PAYE.
Please Note: This role is Inside of IR35. The final pay rates offered are made up of three elements: Hourly pay rate, Holiday pay and Apex Recruitment's contribution to the payroll administrator's deductions.
