This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Lead Paint Technician to join a specialist coatings business based in Oldbury. Opportunities exist on both day and night shifts, focused on producing the highest quality components for the automotive industry and other specialist projects. The Lead Paint Technician will play a key role in production support, process development, and team training while maintaining exceptional cosmetic and quality standards across all paint operations.

Working Hours: Fixed Night Shift (39.5 hours per week), Monday - Thursday: 2:00pm - 12:00am

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support paint processes for new and existing projects
  • Surface preparation of plastic and carbon fibre components
  • Carry out primer, base coat and lacquer application
  • Complete polishing and finishing activities to high cosmetic standards
  • Train and support team members within the paint department
  • Identify production bottlenecks and support process improvements
  • Support production demands and product launch activities
  • Ensure all work is completed to high quality standards
  • Work collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Support continuous improvement activities

Successful Applicants Will Demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Lead/Supervisor within automotive or specialist coatings
  • Experience spraying automotive components, prototypes, show vehicles or refinishing work
  • Experience working with plastics and carbon fibre materials
  • Experienced within Preparation, Paint and Polishing
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work using own initiative
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
