Role: Senior Health and Safety Manager

Location: Norwich (South East), local to South Burlingham/ Reedham/ Great Yarmouth

Salary: GBP 60,000 - GBP 75,000 per annum - DOE + package

Reporting into the Head of Health and Safety for the Group, with dotted line to Site General Manager.

Excited to represent an established and successful manufacturing organisation, in their search for a hands-on and proactive Health and Safety Leader. To become the subject matter expert and business partner for the site. The site has a vast and changing risk profile, which runs 24/7. They have an already mature safety culture on site looking to mature into a consistent and interdependent state.

This opportunity is perfect for a senior safety and health leader to come in and drive change, get stuck in to exciting and varied projects, take ownership of processes and procedures and positively embed a culture where everyone is looking out for each other all the time. All within a supportive site which has a community feel.

Overview Of The Role
  • To be the subject matter expert for Safety and Health across the site working in partnership with the Site GM.
  • Hands on in their approach to H and S who is visible and approachable on site.
  • Spending 80% on site then also 20% supporting the wider group, sharing best practice.
  • To support the site in their cultural maturity, advancing them to a truly interdependent state (comfortably independent now with pockets of interdependency) and embedding this.
  • Support the continuation of large scale, group wide projects and kick start new programmes of work.
  • Coach, mentor and support the workforce and give them the confidence to take accountability and ownership for S and H.
  • Engage and offer training for the whole site, educating the workforce to support increased consistent accountability.
  • To share best practice across the company, equally use the rest of the team for support, reach out when needed to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications And Background
  • Essential, NEBOSH Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Health and Safety/ Degree in Safety and Risk/ IOSH LV6/NCRQ/ or equivalent (or in progress).
  • Desirable, NEBOSH Fire
  • Essential, Manufacturing background, experience of high risk factors within a fast paced or seasonal environment such as agricultural, mining, baked goods, chemical, forestry, farming, packaging, food, beverage, paper, textiles, building materials, plastic or rubber production.
