Are you an empathetic, adaptable, and skilled SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding, long: term role supporting young people as they transition into secondary education?

Randstad Education is currently recruiting for a Year 7 SEN Class Teacher to lead a dedicated class of students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs.

Based at an outstanding special school provision in Northolt, this full: time role focuses on supporting Year 7 pupils through a nurturing, tailored approach as they adjust to their new environment.

Role Overview

  • Classroom Leadership: Lead a small Year 7 class with high support ratios, working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants to deliver personalised learning.
  • Adapted Curriculum: Plan and teach an adapted, thematic curriculum tailored to pupils with SLD, autism, sensory, and complex needs.
  • EHCP Delivery: Embed outcomes from students Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) directly into daily activities, focusing on communication, cognition, independence, and social: emotional growth.
  • Multi: Agency Collaboration: Work closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and parents to support holistic student development.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification (ECTs with strong SEN experience are welcome ).
  • Proven experience teaching or supporting learners with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of non: verbal communication tools (e. g., PECS, Makaton) and sensory integration strategies.
  • A patient, creative, and resilient approach to classroom management and pupil engagement.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness for one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
