Linsco is working with a well‑established and growing groundwork and civil engineering contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor based in the Northern Home Counties Region, Northampton. The contractor primarily serves major housebuilders and developers across the region, delivering roads, sewers, infrastructure, bulk earthworks and housing plot groundworks.
Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple residential groundwork projects.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, valuations and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and variations.
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Support the Commercial Director and regional leadership team with reporting and commercial strategy.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within residential groundworks or civil engineering projects.
- Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification such as HNC/HND.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and financial awareness.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
