Position Overview

Sales Engineer, Technical Sales – measuring solutions.

The company provides industrial temperature measurement systems to industries such as food processing, automotive, aerospace, heat treatment and paint finishing.

Based in Northampton with commutable locations including Peterborough, Cambridge, Kettering and Huntingdon.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary: GBP 55,000 – 60,000, plus uncapped quarterly bonus.

Benefits include

  • Uncapped bonus, paid quarterly.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Occasional travel up to three months per year, typically two weeks at a time to the US and other overseas markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business to agreed targets while maintaining and developing existing client relationships.
  • Develop new business opportunities and enter new routes to market.
  • Provide technical product demonstrations, trials, installation support, on‑site training, and ongoing technical assistance.
  • Identify customer requirements and offer consultative solutions.
  • Manage and grow key account relationships.

Person Specification

  • Experience selling technical solutions, consumables or components.
  • Knowledge of measuring systems is an advantage.
  • B2B technical sales experience in capital equipment, components or services.
  • Experience in Food, automotive or aerospace markets is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to travel overseas regularly.
  • Proven track record of sales success in a technical environment.
