Are you a Skilled labourer with experience in internal plot preparation? We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join a busy new build housing site in South Otterington (near Northallerton) for a contract role. This position specifically focuses on preboarding, ensuring the plots are perfectly prepared for the dry-lining and boarding teams to move in.

The Role

  • Carrying out all aspects of preboarding and floor/wall preparation.
  • Installing fire-stopping, beads, and ensuring all noggins are correctly placed and secured.
  • Checking and clearing floor and stud areas to ensure they are level and debris-free for the boarding team.
  • Moving and organizing boards and timber to various plots.
  • Assisting the site team with general skilled duties to keep the project moving forward.

Key Requirements

  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Proven experience in preboarding, first-fix labouring, or semi-skilled joinery on new build housing sites.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work from a punch list.
  • Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, steel toe boots).
  • Basic hand tools (tape measure, hammer, cordless drill) are highly advantageous.
  • Reliable transport (South Otterington is easily commutable from Northallerton, Thirsk, and Ripon).
