Location: Washington Road, Sunderland

Hours Of Work: Weekly rotation AM and PM Shift, Week 1: Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 15:18 and Friday: 07:00 - 14:53; Week 2: Monday to Thursday: 16:20 - 00:38 and Friday: 14:55 - 22:48

Pay: A GBP 43,000 plus bonus and overtime

The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician to join an established team and a successful manufacturing business. The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Engineer and work closely with functional management, team members, and various external service and utility providers. Ultimately responsible for ensuring that all process, plant, and building maintenance is performed to the highest standards, achieving zero business interruption.

Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety and Environment: Ensure all plant and processes are in safe working order; conduct regular risk assessments and maintain impeccable housekeeping standards.
  • Process and Plant Maintenance: Execute robust preventative and planned maintenance schedules to ensure process uptime exceeds 90% and plant uptime exceeds 98%.
  • Quality and Delivery: Optimize setups to reduce scrap, participate in practical problem-solving, and support stock accuracy activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Research best-in-class practices to improve performance, reduce environmental impact, and lead waste elimination plans.
  • People and Contractor Management: Promote TPM coaching across the business and manage external contractors, including inductions and safety permits.
  • Cost Control: Monitor subcontracted work for value and manage the economical usage of spare parts and consumables.
  • Compliance: Ability to carry out electrical work within authorized limits and comply with the latest regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: HND / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in maintenance preferably within an Automotive supply environment, and a time served apprenticeship.
