This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of agricultural innovation. Outside IR35 Contract Embedded Software Engineer role (6-month initial) at UK Centre of Excellence in Newport, Shropshire. The role focuses on developing and integrating a battery management system (BMS) using CODESYS, including integrating Simulink-derived control functions, implementing and testing application software (bench and HiL), deploying CANopen tools, supporting system bring-up, and producing technical documentation.

Requires strong experience in CODESYS, embedded software, CANopen, and CAN bus tools (Vector), with desirable exposure to Simulink, EPEC controllers, J1939, off-highway/agricultural vehicles, and software release management.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the integration of Simulink-derived control functions into the CODESYS environment.
  • Implement and refine CODESYS application software to support battery management system functionality.
  • Conduct bench and HiL testing of CODESYS software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Deploy CANOpen tools for system configuration management and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to support software bring-up activities.
  • Produce clear technical documentation to facilitate seamless handover and future development.
