An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join a well:established geotechnical consultancy based in Edinburgh. The role offers the chance to work within a highly experienced team delivering a wide range of ground investigation and geotechnical projects across Scotland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects from site investigation through to reporting, with a strong focus on technical quality and client delivery. This position would suit an experienced Engineering Geologist looking for a varied role combining site work, technical reporting and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising ground investigations, including borehole logging, trial pitting and in:situ testing
- Producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
- Interpreting ground investigation data and developing ground models
- Providing geotechnical advice to clients and project teams
- Supporting project delivery from planning through to completion
- Mentoring junior members of the team and supporting their technical development
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
- Proven experience within engineering geology and ground investigation
- Strong understanding of UK ground conditions and geotechnical principles
- Experience with site supervision, logging and technical reporting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
