Role Overview
LOCATION: Stoke
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 35,000 β GBP 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a CNC Machinist, on a permanent basis, in the Stoke area.
Qualifications & Experience
- Time served Engineer (NVQ/ Apprenticeship/ City and Guilds qualification ideally)
- Ideally 2 years' experience or more in a similar engineering manufacturing / machine shop environment
- Experience of working with CNC, milling, turning or manual grinding
- Experience of working with Fusion360 programming or 5 axis machining would be desirable
- Be able to work with MS Office
- Good communication skills
- Have the ability to read/ interpret engineering drawings
- The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
- Must have a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 to C7G or NVQ Level 3
- CNC or manual grinding experience (must be universal or similar if manual) or CNC milling/turning with some grinding experience
Key Responsibilities
- Being responsible for the machining of one off engineering components
- Working to the right standards and specifications
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Writing CNC machining programs (turning/ milling/ grinding)
- Helping to train apprentices or less experienced team members
- Assisting with other general manufacturing activities
- Helping to drive the company's Continuous Improvement program
- Maintaining high standards
