Overview
Our client, a well‑established manufacturing business based in the Leeds area, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician / Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This is a key role supporting the ongoing maintenance, reliability, and improvement of site infrastructure and production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Site Duties
- Support the Site Manager in maintaining and improving site security
- Ensure all infrastructure assets comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the site
Infrastructure and Asset Management
- Deliver engineering and electrical projects within agreed timeframes
- Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and fully operational
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programmes
- Carry out reactive maintenance and respond to breakdowns efficiently
- Recommend and support machinery upgrades and improvement plans
- Assist with planning and budgeting for equipment replacement
- Ensure compliance with relevant external standards
Communication and Reporting
- Work closely with the Site Manager to coordinate maintenance activity
- Monitor and report on asset performance
- Provide recommendations to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance
- Liaise with technical and product development teams to support operational feasibility
Skills And Experience Required
- Apprentice‑trained Electrician with strong industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- Background in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
- Good IT and computer skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
