Job Overview:

Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking a qualified MOT tester, a time served Motor Vehicle Technician to be appointed on a permanent contract. City Transport have two test stations testing class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles, with one site conducting compliance and MOT testing of Licenced Taxis and Hackney carriages. The successful candidate will join the dedicated team of technicians at our modern MOT test station facility at Wincomblee road in Walker.

We are recruiting someone with the skills and experience to enable the effective and efficient testing to DVSA standards in a busy working environment. They will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent and hold a valid MOT tester qualification. A category B driving licence is essential with categories D1 and C LGV licence being advantageous.
