My client has a fantastic Occupational Therapist Permanent vacancy in Milton Keynes in their Neurological care and Rehabilitation. The role involves working as a full member of the multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual treatment and rehabilitation plans for adults with acquired or traumatic brain injury.
Job Role
- Participate as a full member of the multi-disciplinary team in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual treatment and rehabilitation plans liaising with other relevant agencies as appropriate.
- Use an evidence-based, patient-centred approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans to support residents\β physical and psychological needs.
- Work with residents and team members to identify goals and set treatment plans.
- Liaise with relatives and carers with empathy, providing information, support and advice whenever and as often as required, in respect of treatment plans.
- Maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary for each residents case review.
- Identify risks and advise other team members on interventions to minimise risks.
- Undertake assessment of daily living skills to identify level of functional ability, risks and level of support needed.
- Participate in clinical meetings, reviews and other discussions where required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all Occupational Therapy equipment.
- Be aware of and adhere to the Standards of Practice from the Royal College of Occupational Therapy and other statutory bodies.
- Liaise with appropriate outside organisations for equipment provision, e.g. wheelchair services.
- Contribute to the development and training needs within the Therapy Team and the wider MDT including Nurses and Care staff.
- Review and reflect on own practice and performance through the effective use of both operational and professional supervision.
- Directly support and supervise staff, ensuring professional accountability and priorities are met and all policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
Requirements
- Diploma / degree / masters in Occupational Therapy.
- Member of HCPC.
- Strong evidence of continued professional development.
- A minimum of two years experience working as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with a wide range of neurological conditions.
- Experience of working with people with chronic disability and progressive conditions.
- Evidence of experience using a wide range of approaches to the management of patients as demonstrated by clinical reasoning.
- A clear understanding of the CSP professional code of conduct and relevant professional guidelines.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to multitask and work accurately and effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
- Ability to rapidly assess a situation/problem and develop appropriate solutions proactively.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Good English language and grammar.
- Report writing skills.
