Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning and design consultancy in their search for a Principal Town Planner to join their team in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Town Planner to join a collaborative and forward‑thinking consultancy, working across a broad portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed‑use, and strategic development projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client management, and supporting the continued growth of the planning team.

THE ROLE

As a Principal Town Planner, you will lead on planning projects from initial strategy through to submission and determination. You will manage client relationships, provide strategic planning advice, and support junior colleagues while continuing to develop your career as a Principal Town Planner within a respected multidisciplinary consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing major planning applications and appeals
  • Providing strategic planning advice across a range of development projects
  • Preparing and reviewing high‑quality planning reports and supporting documentation
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
  • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members

What We're Looking For
