We are experiencing high demand for empathetic, energetic SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with a range of needs: including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate/Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and speech, language, and communication challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils with complex learning or social: emotional needs, guiding them through daily activities and curriculum tasks.
- Provide tailored emotional, behavioural, and sensory support, using positive reinforcement and de: escalation strategies to keep pupils engaged and safe.
- Assist pupils in developing self: regulation, social interaction, communication, and key life skills inside and outside the classroom.
- Support the class teacher with setting up specialised learning resources, monitoring pupil progress, and maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment.
- Assist pupils during non: structured times, such as breaks, lunches, and educational trips or outdoor activities.
- What We Look For
- Previous experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), complex health needs, or challenging behaviour (in education, residential care, youth work, or support settings).
- A patient, calm, and empathetic nature with strong communication and active listening skills.
- The resilience and confidence to handle emotionally challenging or complex situations professionally.
- Training in de: escalation/physical intervention (e. g., Team: Teach, MAPA) or moving and handling is advantageous, though not essential.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
