Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Thorough knowledge of the current MFL curriculum specifications and assessment frameworks.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness for one).
Required Skills
- Native or near:native fluency in both Spanish and French (written and spoken).
- Excellent classroom practitioner with proven success in teaching MFL at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- The ability to effectively differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and high-achievers.
- Innovative and creative approach to lesson design and curriculum delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building professional relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A clear vision and educational philosophy aligned with fostering student confidence and success in languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in both Spanish and French to diverse student groups.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, using data to inform future planning and intervention strategies.
- Develop and contribute to departmental schemes of work, ensuring alignment with national curriculum standards.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Organise and lead extracurricular activities, clubs, or trips to enhance students language practice.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student performance, progress, and well-being.
- Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral support and upholding the schools commitment to student welfare.
- Attend and actively contribute to departmental, whole-school, and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) meetings.
- Implement and follow the schools safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
- Utilise educational technology and digital resources to create blended learning opportunities.
