Location: Snodland, Kent (regional coverage across Kent and South East London)

Rate: GBP 400–450 per day (CIS or LTD)

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months, with view to permanent employment

Project Overview

Lead mechanical and electrical asset upgrades across water infrastructure sites, primarily based at the hub in Snodland. The role requires managing critical packages throughout Kent and South East London, focusing on sluice gates, river locks, pumping stations and specialized eel screens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take operational responsibility for MEICA delivery and manage day‑to‑day programme.
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary subcontractors across multiple site locations.
  • Oversee complex M&E packages including river locks, sluice gates, pumping systems and eel‑screen replacements.
  • Review design drawings, P&IDs, specifications and telemetry/control documents to ensure right‑first‑time delivery.
  • Enforce CDM 2015, write, review and sign off on RAMS, manage Permit‑to‑Work systems and oversee safe working procedures near water and in confined spaces.
  • Track daily outputs against budget, manage variations, maintain site diaries and report progress to the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering mechanical and electrical engineering packages in water, river or utilities sectors.
  • Deep understanding of water level control structures (sluice gates, lock mechanisms) and pumping station components.
  • Qualifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), mandatory Black or Gold CSCS Card (Managerial/Technical).
  • Highly desirable: Mandatory Mandate EUSR National Water Hygiene card.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across Kent and South East London.

  • Hub Location: Snodland, Kent.
  • Payment Options: CIS or LTD company models welcome.
  • Stability: Initial 6‑month contract with an active opportunity to transition into a permanent position.
