We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a precision engineering company based in Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for someone with strong SolidWorks experience and a background in designing high-accuracy components and systems where tight tolerances, repeatability, and alignment are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design precision mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings to tight tolerance specifications.
  • Develop systems requiring high levels of repeatability and precise alignment.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure designs meet performance and accuracy requirements.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and support validation and testing activities.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, BOMs, and revision control.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of existing products and systems.

Skills And Experience Required:

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
  • Proven experience designing components for tight tolerances and precision applications.
  • Understanding of tolerance analysis, GD and T, and alignment-critical systems.
  • Experience working in precision manufacturing, automation, medical devices, or similar high-accuracy industries is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
