Location: Salisbury

Salary: Full time equivalent salary: A GBP 24,796 : A GBP 25,185 per annum (A GBP 12.85 : A GBP 13.05/Hour)

Vacancy Type: 14 hours per week (0.38 FTE), 5am:9am, 3pm:6pm Tuesday and Saturday. Additional hours may be applicable for this role.

Salisbury City Council Own And Run One Of The Biggest Markets In The South And Our Tuesday And Saturday Charter Market Is Essential To The Vibrancy Of Salisbury City Centre. Our Market Square And Guildhall Square Are Home To Many Market And Event Activities, And We Are Looking For a Markets Officer To Support These. The Job Is Varied And Includes Physically Putting Up And Setting Down The Market Equipment To Supporting Stall Holders And Members Of The Public With Day To Day Queries. This Will Involve Ensuring People Are Working Safely And That The Areas Are Safe For The Public But Also Include The Following

What you would be doing

  • To set up, shut down and keep tidy, the regular Tuesday and Saturday Charter Markets, the additional markets and events as and when required working with Market Traders, providers and customers.
  • To resolve on site problems on Market and fair days in support of the Markets Officer, Operations Manager and Business Team.

  • Good interpersonal skills (customer facing)
  • The need to work outside in all weathers (essential)
  • Working in a physically demanding environment(essential)
  • Cash handling experience including paperwork and reconciliation(essential)
  • Driving Licence(essential)
