The Main Purpose Of The Role

To be a key part of the warehouse administration team and to support the Area Managers and Warehouse Manager in the smooth running of the entire warehouse function. To ensure all business requirements and customer requests related to administrative activities are carried out in full as required. To ensure accuracy and availability of stocks within the warehouse by following all operational processes and procedures correctly relevant to the Warehouse Management System (WMS). To work cohesively with all other support functions within the wider operation and carry out any other tasks as reasonably requested by the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Processing of outbound and inbound movements.
  • Day‑to‑day paperwork processing and filing.
  • Run reports and paperwork from the customer’s own system.
  • Provide clerical support to the warehouse and transport team as required.
  • Processing packaging for both inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Complete audit checks on key areas of the business.

Communication

  • Cross‑functional contact to resolve any queries or problems that may arise.
  • Responding to and dealing with both internal and external customer communication by e‑mail, telephone and in person.
  • Provide any performance data and KPIs to the management team as requested.

Teamwork

  • Encouraging teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours towards all members of the Knowles Logistics Ltd teams.
  • Provide ASH cover (absence, sickness and holiday) as required by the business.
  • Assist the warehouse operatives with any queries.

Health and Safety:

  • Maintain compliance with the site H&S standards at all times.
  • Attend relevant training courses.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by performing general housekeeping where necessary.
  • Ensure that all lifting and moving of products are carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Support the safety culture by completing near‑miss forms when a relevant observation is made.

Requirements

About you

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and co‑workers.
  • Excellent written, numeracy and accurate data entry skills.
  • Good time‑keeping and highly organised.
  • Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Be motivated and practical thinking.
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have own transportation to work.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • 1 year experience of working in a warehouse environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Understanding of inbound and outbound supply chain processes.

Accountable KPIs

  • Customer Service: To ensure all paperwork is processed with accuracy.
  • Escalate and resolve any receipt or delivery queries.
  • Ensure all documentation is processed within 24 hours of receipt.
