Position: Maintenance Engineer – Frome, Somerset
Employer: Our client is a leading manufacturer dedicated to producing high‑quality products recognised internationally. They are expanding into export markets and seek a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.
Salary & Hours: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum, Monday to Friday with plenty of overtime. 34 days holiday.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve long‑term reliability.
- Execute the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer’s plan to work preventatively and reactively.
- Use root‑cause analysis tools and 5S.
- Support a culture of Continuous Improvement by eliminating persistent problems.
- Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.
- Accurately record all tasks on an electronic reporting system.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Formal Engineering qualification: C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship trained.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
- Strong understanding of good engineering standards.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing or production environments.
