Maintenance Engineer – Thirsk, North Yorkshire
Salary: £33,000–£35,000 per annum plus company car/van.
Hours: Permanent full‑time role working 48 hours per week, 4 days (Thursday to Sunday, or Friday to Monday), 6am–6pm.
Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire YO7. Commute from York, Northallerton, Ripon, Harrogate, Castle Howard, Tadcaster, Wetherby, Darlington and Middlesbrough.
Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will provide engineering support to the production team.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all planned, preventative and corrective maintenance tasks in accordance with maintenance systems.
- Investigate, root‑cause analyse and resolve problems relating to machines and provide support for process and quality issues.
- Ensure all documentation and record‑keeping for the shift is up to date.
- Provide comprehensive breakdown information and actions taken to support the planned maintenance system.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines and requirements.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a maintenance engineering role.
- Good working knowledge of pneumatic and electrical control systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and fault‑finding.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced production and engineering environment.
- Flexible, adaptable, proactive and motivated with the ability to resolve intricate situations.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within a production/manufacturing environment.
- Mechanically biased.
