KHR is partnering with a leading international manufacturing organisation to recruit a Skilled Mechanical Technician to join their Engineering Maintenance team on a full‑time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a well‑established business that invests heavily in its people, technology, and continuous improvement culture.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of critical production equipment across the site. Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you will undertake preventive maintenance, fault‑finding, breakdown response and equipment improvement activities to maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities across site equipment
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective repairs
  • Diagnose faults on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Complete work orders accurately, recording time, defects and spare parts used through SAP PM
  • Support planned shutdowns and maintenance projects
  • Identify opportunities for equipment improvements, modifications and upgrades
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
  • Work closely with production teams to minimise disruption and maximise machine uptime
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
  • Participate in the on‑call rota and provide shift cover when necessary

What We’re Looking For

  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing, process, heavy industrial, FMCG, chemical or similar environments
  • Flexible approach with a willingness to support plant shutdowns and on‑call requirements
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities
  • Experience using SAP PM or other CMMS systems would be advantageous
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
