About The Role
Our client, a well‑established and growing freight forwarding organisation, is seeking a Trainee Logistics Coordinator to join their specialist recyclables division. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity to begin a career within a dynamic and fast‑paced freight forwarding environment. The business is part of a larger, expanding logistics group, providing global transport solutions across air, sea, and road freight.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with preparation of shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, shipping instructions, invoices, and packing lists
- Ensure documentation is accurate and compliant with relevant regulations
- Learn to complete VGM submissions and customs documentation
- Support booking of shipments with shipping lines, hauliers, and consolidators
- Monitor schedules, cut‑offs, and ETAs to ensure timely cargo movement
- Coordinate collections, deliveries, and loading with suppliers and customers
- Communicate with customers and service partners, providing updates and resolving queries
- Support internal teams to maintain high service standards
- Assist in identifying delays or operational issues and escalating where necessary
- Contribute to process improvements alongside the supervisor and wider team
What You Need
- Degree educated (2:1 or above) in any discipline
- No prior freight forwarding experience required, but a genuine interest in logistics is essential
- Strong communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage priorities
- Eager to learn, proactive, and willing to take ownership as you develop
