The Role
This specialist independent SEN school is looking for a dedicated Early Years SEN Teacher to support young children with autism and developmental needs within a specialist early years provision.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, play‑based learning tailored to each child’s individual developmental stage and EHCP targets.
You will work alongside therapists, behaviour practitioners, and teaching assistants to provide an integrated approach that supports communication, early language, social interaction, sensory development, and school readiness.
The role requires creating a nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment where children can build confidence and independence from their earliest stages of education.
Responsibilities
- Deliver play‑based, child‑centred teaching to support early development.
- Use the EYFS framework to plan and assess progress, tailored to each child’s EHCP targets.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (therapists, behaviour practitioners, teaching assistants) for integrated support.
- Maintain a structured, stimulating learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly autism.
- Genuine passion for early intervention and SEN support.
- QTS required; additional training or experience in therapeutic early years settings a plus.
