Mechanical Fitter required by a well-established manufacturer. The Mechanical Fitter will need experience of fitting, assembly, stripping down, surveying and testing parts. The company are renowned for their engineering excellence and operate within strict quality guidelines such as ISO9001 and RISAS. The Mechanical Fitter Role:
- Overhaul of mechanical equipment within a workshop environment.
- Mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey, and test.
- Read drawings, identify components, assemble and/or repair mechanical equipment.
- Maintain good quality and efficiency.
- Flexibility of skills to carry out testing, basic wiring, and mechanical fitting.
- Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements.
- Ability to complete technical documentation as work progresses.
- To perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
The Mechanical Fitter:
- Experienced Mechanical Fitter from a workshop environment or similar, preferably with skills on rotating equipment.
- Ability to meet strict quality guidelines.
- Preferably apprentice trained and/or hold a relevant qualification.
- A working knowledge of safety systems such as Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments will be advantageous.
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S and knowledge of the 7 wastes would be beneficial, but not crucial.
