A luxury hospitality business is looking to appoint its first dedicated Learning and Development Manager. This is a newly created role with full accountability for shaping how training, development and leadership progression is delivered across the group.
The business has grown significantly and now requires someone who can bring structure, consistency and ownership to Learning and Development. You will review what already exists, identify gaps, create clear learning pathways and build a framework that supports both current operations and future growth.
This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior leadership to ensure the business develops exceptional people, exceptional managers and future leaders.
The Role- Take full ownership of Learning and Development across the group
- Review, refine and consolidate existing training resources and materials
- Build and implement a structured learning framework across all operational departments
- Create clear onboarding programmes, training pathways and development plans
- Design leadership development programmes for current and future managers
- Develop apprenticeship and succession planning initiatives
- Lead the creation of training manuals, learning content and operational development tools
- Deliver training where required and ensure consistency across the business
- Work closely with operational leaders to identify development opportunities and skills gaps
- Partner with external providers to enhance specialist learning programmes
- Support the delivery of long-term people and growth strategies across the group
- Take full accountability for the ongoing evolution of Learning and Development within the business
- Strong Learning and Development background within hospitality or luxury hospitality
- Experience creating and implementing L&D frameworks rather than simply facilitating training sessions
- Live and breathe learning: this will be something you’re passionate about in your personal life as well
- Proven ability to build structure, process and learning pathways from the ground up
- Comfortable influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple departments
- Commercially minded with a clear understanding of how development drives performance
- Confident presenter with the credibility to engage teams at all levels
- Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to work autonomously
- Brings energy, passion and a genuine commitment to developing people
- Previous operational hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Understands luxury hospitality standards and has a genuine appreciation for what exceptional service looks and feels like
