Overview
A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its London office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2–5 years of experience who is looking to progress their career within a collaborative and technically focused team.
- Role
- Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and slope stability.
- Interpret ground investigation data and geotechnical reports.
- Produce design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
- Carry out geotechnical modelling using industry-standard software.
- Work closely with structural and civil engineers to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Attend design meetings and provide technical support throughout project delivery.
- Ensure designs are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–5 years experience in a geotechnical design role.
- Experience producing geotechnical design calculations and technical reports.
- Familiarity with software such as Oasys, GEO5, Slope/W, Plaxis or similar.
- Good understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes and current design practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society) is desirable but not essential.
