Our client, a well-established Shipping and Logistics company, is currently looking to appoint an Export Sea Freight Clerk to join their growing team in East London.

What You'll Do

This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideally suited to someone with strong Sea Freight Export experience who is confident managing shipments from start to finish. The successful candidate will be liaising daily with customers, overseas agents and hauliers worldwide, ensuring all shipments are handled efficiently and professionally. In addition to export duties, you will also assist with deep sea imports and short sea movements where required. A good working knowledge of CargoWise is highly desirable for this position.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing Sea Freight Export shipments from start to finish
  • Liaising with overseas agents, customers and hauliers
  • Ensuring all consignments are entered onto the system prior to arrival and departure
  • Keeping customers fully informed of any delays or issues affecting shipments
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • Assisting with deep sea import and short sea shipments as required
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times
  • Using internal systems effectively, with CargoWise knowledge being advantageous

What You Need

  • A minimum of 3 years Freight Forwarding experience
  • Strong operational knowledge of Sea Freight Export procedures
  • Experience handling shipments from start to finish
  • Good overall understanding of freight forwarding operations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A good working knowledge of CargoWise is preferred
  • Organised, proactive and able to work well under pressure
