The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, no two days are the same. You will work closely with our teaching and therapy teams to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Individualised Support: Assisting pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development, adapting to their unique communication and learning styles.
  • Safety and Well‑being: Providing a secure environment for pupils with complex needs, including monitoring those with epilepsy or specific medical conditions (full training provided).
  • Classroom Collaboration: Helping the class teacher implement tailored learning plans and track pupil progress.
  • Building Confidence: Encouraging independence and life skills, helping our young people celebrate their daily wins.

You don’t need decades of classroom experience, but you do need a genuine passion for making a difference.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Attributes: Empathy, patience, a calm demeanour under pressure, and a great sense of humour.
  • Reliability: Excellent attendance and punctuality to ensure consistency for our pupils.
  • Flexibility: Availability for at least 3 days a week between Monday and Friday (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
