Duties
- Sitting with students in class to help them get started on their work.
- Helping the teacher hand out worksheets and get the room ready for the lesson.
- Working one:on:one with students who find subjects like English or Maths a bit tricky.
- Keeping students focused on their tasks so they dont get distracted.
- Making sure the classroom stays tidy and all books are put away at the end.
- Working with students in small groups to practice reading or simple tasks.
- Listening to students read and helping them with words they dont know.
- Helping the teacher keep the class calm and well:behaved.
- Walking around the room to see if any student needs a bit of extra help.
Skills And Qualifications
- A University Degree OR a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly valued.
- A friendly and patient personality so you can support students who find school hard.
- Clear communication skills so you can talk to teenagers and other staff members easily.
- The ability to stay calm and helpful even when the classroom gets busy.
- A real interest in education and helping young people reach their goals.
