Working within a specialist EDM, machining and grinding operation in the West Midlands, our firmly established client is seeking an experienced Lead Production Planner to support their ongoing machining activities from their Wolverhampton based site. Their activity is centred around the aerospace and IGT sectors in the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Detail the necessary production equipment, raw materials (building BOMs) and labour needs for production
  • Submit reports on throughput
  • Identify priority orders and plan accordingly to meet customer requirements
  • Work with Management to address any issues, setbacks or quality control concerns with the production process
  • Support the Purchasing team to anticipate raw material demands
  • Facilitate contract review meetings, discussing new production methods or ways to reduce production costs and increase company profits, as well as taking notes and assigning tasks
  • Prepare, complete and file production paperwork in line with ISO 9001 quality procedures
  • Other process administrative tasks relating to production planning and general operations

5 years minimum of planning experience in a fast-paced environment. Other production and/or administrative related tasks may be introduced once settled.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be able to collaborate well with others, as planning is a cross functional role. This individual will need to work with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality and Production, to coordinate and integrate production plans. There will be a strong need to build and maintain good relationships with operators to ensure smooth and timely delivery of our products.
