We are looking for individuals who are nurturing, compassionate, creative and versatile. The school focuses on ensuring students who have difficulty accessing education receive a social and exciting school experience. You will join an engaging and helpful team and support mixed-ability children on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis across KS2, KS3 and KS4. Children attending this setting are aged between 9 and 16 years. This role is full-time, permanent, term-time only (8:30–16:30).

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing teaching assistance according to the teacher's weekly/daily/seasonal planning
  • Working 1:1 with students
  • Providing group and/or individual activities planned by the teacher
  • Working individually with learners to develop work
  • Supporting the general well‑being of learners within the school's structure
  • Monitoring and evaluating students' learning under the guidance of the teacher
  • Assisting teachers in using relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful learning environment
  • Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

Key Skills And Experience Needed

  • Ability to work with learners who have various learning difficulties
  • Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Flexibility in approach to education
  • Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
  • Own means of transport
