Overview: Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long‑term contract within a leading alternative provision. This role is not a traditional classroom position. You will act as a mentor, advocate, and educator for young people facing complex barriers to education, helping them re‑engage and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high‑quality tailored support to young people outside of mainstream education settings.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, social workers, and other professionals to create a holistic support network.
- Help identify, trial, and implement bespoke behavioural and learning strategies designed to successfully transition the young person back into the classroom.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to boost their confidence, self‑esteem, and emotional resilience.
Requirements:
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Experience working with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, behavioural challenges, or within an SEN environment is desirable.
- High emotional intelligence, patience, excellent communication skills and a non‑judgemental approach to behaviour management.
