An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional clinic based in the Hove, East Sussex area. You will be working for one of the UK's leading health care providers. This mental health clinic provides highly specialist multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with an eating disorder where behavioural or emotional problems may have resulted in a severely restricted dietary intake.

Requirements

  • To be considered for this position you must have an MRCPsychiatry or equivalent with full GMC registration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a leadership and mentor approach to assist the multidisciplinary team to ensure a person-centred environment.
  • Adhere to risk assessment protocols and risk management within our service.
  • Have overall responsibility of patient treatment plans, whilst liaising with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Psychological assessment, diagnosis and follow up of outpatients.
  • Prescribing medication, monitoring and stabilising medication.
  • Provide cohesiveness, consistency and continuity.
  • Internal continuity and communication between disciplines, collaborative MDT working.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Recent experience with acute Psychiatry.
  • Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+.
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act.
  • Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles.
