The Assistant Farm Manager supports the Farm Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the broiler farm to ensure optimal bird health, growth performance, biosecurity, and production efficiency. This role involves supervising farm staff, monitoring flock performance, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Farm Operations Management
    • Assist in managing day-to-day broiler farm operations.
    • Ensure proper feeding, watering, ventilation, and lighting systems are functioning correctly.
    • Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, air quality).
    • Ensure proper stocking density and bird comfort.
  • Bird Health and Welfare
    • Monitor flock health and report abnormalities to the Farm Manager or Veterinarian.
    • Ensure vaccination schedules and medication programs are followed.
    • Observe birds daily for signs of disease, stress, or injury.
    • Maintain high animal welfare standards.
  • Biosecurity and Hygiene
    • Enforce strict biosecurity protocols.
    • Supervise cleaning and disinfection of poultry houses and equipment.
    • Control farm access and ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
    • Monitor pest and rodent control programs.
  • Staff Supervision
    • Supervise and guide farm workers and attendants.
    • Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently.
    • Train new employees on farm procedures and safety practices.
    • Maintain discipline and teamwork on the farm.
  • Production and Performance Monitoring
    • Track feed consumption, water intake, weight gain, FCR, and mortality rates.

    • Ensure farm equipment and machinery are properly maintained.
    • Report maintenance issues promptly.

Qualifications and Experience
