We are seeking a qualified teacher who enjoys the classroom and wants to lead across departments in a flexible cover role. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, professional leadership in cover lessons while maintaining activity in the classroom and a healthy work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Expert Lesson Facilitation: Deliver pre-planned work across various subjects, using teaching expertise to explain concepts, answer questions, and keep students on track.
- Advanced Behaviour Management: Establish authority and maintain a calm, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Adaptive Teaching: Differentiate tasks on the fly using QTS skills, supporting students with SEND and challenging high-attainers, even in unfamiliar subjects.
- Professional Handovers: Provide high-quality feedback on student progress and classroom dynamics to ensure seamless continuity for the regular teacher.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification; ECTs are welcome.
- Versatile and Confident: Able to cover any subject on the timetable and enter a new classroom with a positive, authoritative presence.
- Strong Communicator: Build rapport with teenagers quickly and manage diverse classroom personalities effectively.
- Committed to Safeguarding: Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
