Keeping mechanical CNC machinery performing at its best means customers can keep producing, minimise downtime and get the most from their investment.

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll take that expertise directly to customer sites, installing, maintaining and repairing advanced machine tools across the UK, Ireland and occasionally further afield.

  • What's in it for you
  • GBP 50,000: GBP 55,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
  • Overtime paid door to door, meaning your additional earnings include your travel time rather than starting only when you reach site.
  • Your choice of a fully fitted company car or van.
  • All tools, test equipment, laptop and mobile phone provided.
  • Fully expensed travel when working away from home.
  • The opportunity to work with advanced CNC machinery, automation systems and equipment across a varied customer base.

You’ll work for an established OEM machine tool supplier supporting a network of around 5,000 machines across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the Middle East.

Home based with additional support from the High Wycombe office, you’ll have the autonomy to manage work on site while still having the backing of an experienced customer support team.

  • Your responsibilities as Field Service Engineer
  • Install, service, maintain and repair CNC 3: axis and 5: axis machine tools at customer sites.
  • Work on 2, 3, 4 and 5: axis lathes, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to minimise customer downtime.
  • Install machine options including Renishaw probing, rotary axes and coolant: through: spindle systems.
  • Provide product support for Erowa and Pro: cobot automation systems, alongside Roders 3: axis and 5: axis machinery and automation.
  • Build effective working relationships with customers while providing clear daily communication and detailed service reports.
  • Maintain service stock, upload completed worksheets and accurately record any further work required.

What we're looking for in a Field Service Engineer

  • Previous engineering experience within the machine tool sector is preferred, with practical knowledge of CNC machinery, servicing, installation or repair.
  • The ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Southern Ireland, including regular overnight stays away from home.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel internationally to support agents and machinery across Europe and the Middle East.
  • The ability to communicate professionally when working at customer premises and provide clear technical updates.
  • A clean UK driving licence.

This is a genuinely mobile position, so you must be comfortable travelling and staying away from home when customer requirements demand it.

If regular overnight stays or extensive UK travel would not suit your circumstances, this position is unlikely to be the right fit.

Importantly, overtime is paid door to door.

Your paid overtime therefore covers eligible travel time from leaving home through to returning, rather than only the time spent working at the customer site.
